Install the Demofye extension

We're honest about where things stand: Demofye doesn't have a published Chrome Web Store listing yet. Until it does, you can build and load the extension manually in a few minutes — this is exactly how we run it ourselves during development.

  1. Step 1

    Clone the repo and build the extension

    git clone the Demofye monorepo, then run pnpm install at the root followed by pnpm extension:build. This produces an unpacked build under apps/extension/dist.

  2. Step 2

    Open chrome://extensions

    In Chrome (or any Chromium browser), navigate to chrome://extensions and toggle on Developer mode in the top-right corner.

  3. Step 3

    Load unpacked

    Click Load unpacked and select the apps/extension/dist folder from the build in step 1.

  4. Step 4

    Pin it and start recording

    Pin the Demofye icon to your toolbar. Click it to start a screen, window, or tab recording — no account required.

Where's the source?

The extension lives at apps/extension in the Demofye monorepo alongside the web app, API, and worker. Once it's ready for a public listing, this page will link straight to the Chrome Web Store instead.
